St. Bartholomew asked.
“How do You know me?”
Jesus replied.
“I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.”
St. Bartholomew said.
“Rabbi, You are the Son of God, You are the King of Israel.”
Jesus said.
“You believe because I said to you; ‘I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.’ You will see the greater things than that. I tell you the truth. You shall see the heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”
Therefore, St. Philip was the fifth disciple, and St. Bartholomew was the sixth disciple.
