Chapter 5-2

The crowd was praying outside when he was burning incense. Just then an angel Gabriel appeared to him standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
The angel Gabriel said to him. (Luke 1:5-25).
“Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.”

Chapter 5-1

As St. Zechariah and St. Elizabeth were relatives of St. Mary, they were presented at the wedding ceremony of St. Joseph and St. Mary in Jerusalem.
The late-September of 6 B.C. of the old solar calendar of the Jews, St. Zechariah who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah was serving as priest before the God when his division was on duty. As the priests had the custom of the priesthood, they had to burn incense in the temple of the Lord. He drew lot, and the lot fell to him.
